About InfiShark
Wireless security research shouldn't cost a fortune - or require one.
We built InfiShark because the tools that security researchers actually need were either locked behind enterprise price tags, scattered across a dozen different devices, or both. That's the problem we set out to fix: a capable, portable, affordable wireless multi-tool that you can carry in your pocket and trust in the field.
We're a small Canadian company. We design our hardware, write our own firmware, and ship to customers in 40+ countries. No middlemen. No bloat. Just tools that work.
The Story
From Kickstarter to global shipping
InfiShark started the way most real products do: with a problem that existing options weren't solving. The security research space had plenty of expensive, bulky gear - and a gap where an accessible, well-made pocket device should have been.
In 2023, we launched on Kickstarter to validate the idea. We exceeded our CA$5,000 goal, and more importantly, we heard directly from the people who would use this: CTF players, red team practitioners, hardware hackers, curious engineers. That feedback shaped everything that came after.
Today, InfiShark Technologies Inc. is a registered Canadian company headquartered in Vaughan, Ontario. We've shipped to thousands of customers across North America, Europe, Asia, and beyond. The hardware is Canadian-designed. The firmware is written in-house. Every unit that leaves our facility passes through a custom QA testing jig built specifically for the BLEShark Nano.
We're not a big company. We're a focused one.
The Product
BLEShark Nano
A pocket-sized wireless multi-tool for security research.
The BLEShark Nano fits in your pocket and handles Bluetooth Low Energy analysis, wireless signal reconnaissance, and a growing set of research capabilities - all from a device the size of a USB drive. Firmware updates deliver new features automatically over the air. No drivers. No config nightmares. Pick it up and get to work.
The Team
Small team. Deep ownership.
We don't have a hundred engineers. What we have is a tight team that owns every layer of the product: schematic design, PCB layout, enclosure, firmware, QA, support, and logistics. That's rare, and we think it matters.
Our firmware is developed entirely in-house. That means when we identify a bug, we fix it - no waiting on a third-party SDK vendor. When the community asks for a feature, we can scope it, build it, and ship it over the air. Our QA process uses a custom-built hardware jig that validates every unit before it ships. We test what we sell.
Engineering craft isn't something we talk about for marketing. It's how we keep 7,000+ customers trusting a $40 device in their security work.
Community
Built with the people who use it
Our Discord server is where InfiShark actually lives. It's where customers report bugs before they hit our inbox, where we share firmware changelogs first, where feature requests turn into shipped updates. If you want to understand what we're working on and where the product is going, that's where you'll find it.
We work with content creators in the security research space - including GhostStrats - who use BLEShark Nano in real workflows and give their honest take. We don't script their content. We give them the device and let the results speak.
Every firmware release ships with a public changelog. You always know what changed, what was fixed, and what's coming.
Transparency
On closed-source firmware
"We chose closed-source firmware to maintain quality control, rapid iteration, and a curated experience. An open codebase creates forking risk, support fragmentation, and the kind of 'it works on my build' problems that erode trust in a security tool. We think that's the wrong tradeoff for our customers."
We understand this is a real question in the security community, and we're not going to dodge it. Closed-source is a deliberate choice, not a limitation we're hiding behind.
In practice, it means: OTA updates ship reliably, every device runs the same validated firmware, and we can iterate quickly without managing community forks. It means we can catch a bug on a Monday and have a fix on every device by Thursday.
What we do publish: a detailed firmware changelog with every release, a security disclosure policy (see our compliance portal), and an open channel for community feedback via Discord and support@infishark.com. We're transparent about what the firmware does. We're just not open about how it does it.
If that's not the right fit for your workflow, we respect that. If it is, you'll get a device that just works.
Compliance & Trust
A real company with real certifications
InfiShark Technologies Inc. is a registered Canadian corporation. Our registered address is 6D-7398 Yonge St, PMB 725, Vaughan, Ontario L4J 8J2, Canada. We're not a dropshipper, a rebadge operation, or a pop-up storefront. We design the product, we hold the compliance documentation, and we stand behind what we sell.
BLEShark Nano has been through the battery and safety certification process required for international shipping. Full documentation is publicly available at compliance.infishark.com.
We publish this documentation because customers shipping internationally, or working in regulated environments, need it. If you need documentation we haven't listed, reach out - we'll help.
Support
We actually respond
The fastest way to get help is Discord. We monitor it daily, and most questions get answered within hours - often by other community members who've already solved the same issue. For formal requests, order issues, or anything you'd rather keep private, email us at support@infishark.com.
During fulfillment windows, we post regular shipping updates on the InfiShark blog. No vague "orders are processing" messages - actual batch numbers, actual timelines. You deserve to know where your order is.
