Certifications, Injection Molds, New Samples, and Tariff Information

We're super excited to share a few major updates on the BLEShark Nano! Let's dive right in.

1. Certifications

Great news - the BLEShark Nano has officially passed FCC Part 15B (Unintentional Radiator) testing! This is a major milestone, as it confirms that our device doesn’t emit unwanted interference (it is not a brain fryer). :)

What this means: We now have the green light to move forward with PCB manufacturing, which is a huge step forward! It's time to begin manufacturing!

2. Injection Molding/Latest Samples

We have just received the latest production samples! They are amazing, but have two small problems:

  • Hairline Cracks: Some enclosures show small cracks caused by molding pressure. These are subtle, but visible under normal lighting. We're resampling with a slightly higher molding temperature to try and eliminate this issue.
  • Transparent Case Tint: The transparent version came out with a very slight yellow tint and is a bit foggier than expected. We’re evaluating tweaks to improve clarity without compromising strength.

3. Tariffs (For U.S. Customers)

With the new 145% tariff between the U.S. and China (at the moment), we know a lot of people have been stressed about extra fees. But, thankfully, we’ve got some great news.

You won’t be charged any tariffs at all.

Our BLEShark Nano is proudly made in Canada, which means two great things:

  • We’re only subject to Canada’s much lower 25% tariff rate (not the 145% monster from China),
  • U.S. customers are totally in the clear thanks to the de minimis threshold.

Under current U.S. rules, any shipment from Canada valued under $800 USD skips tariffs entirely. And with the BLEShark Nano priced at just ~$40, you’d need to stack up 20 of them before duties even become a thing.

So yes, no surprise fees, no 145% nonsense, and no stress.
