How To Update Your BLEShark Nano With InfiShark CLI Tool

When on-device OTA is broken or unavailable, the InfiShark CLI is the reliable way to update BLEShark Nano firmware from your computer over USB-C.

Use this path when you are on firmware older than 1.2.0 (OTA is broken on 1.1.0 and some firmwares earlier), the on-device updater fails, or you want a clean host-side flash.

What you need

  • A BLEShark Nano and a USB-C cable
  • A computer on Linux, macOS, or Windows
  • About two minutes

1. Install the InfiShark CLI

Copy the command for your OS, paste it into a terminal (PowerShell on Windows), and run it.

Linux / macOS curl -fsSL https://cdn.infishark.com/install.sh | sh
Windows irm https://cdn.infishark.com/install.ps1 | iex

You only need to do this once per machine.

2. Plug in the Nano

Connect the Nano over USB-C. Close any other apps that might be holding the port.

3. Flash the latest firmware

In the same terminal, run:

Bash infishark flash latest

The CLI downloads the current firmware and writes it to the device. Leave the cable connected until it finishes.

4. Confirm the update

When the flash completes, the Nano should reboot onto the new firmware. If you were below the recommended 1.2.0 baseline, flash first before chasing host or SDK features.

Troubleshooting

If you receive the issue "Espressif port(s) present but not responding", don't worry! The solution is simple.

Plug in the device while holding down the left button to initiate boot mode (the screen should not turn on), and instead of running infishark flash latest, run infishark flash setup.

The setup firmware will have working OTA updates, and once it's flashed, the device will automatically pull the latest firmware from there.

Tip: Prefer infishark flash latest over hunting for a manual image. It always pulls the current release.
